This is the tumblr site of Troy Hoover. I am currently an art student at The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, aspiring to work in the comic book industry. Here I will post artwork of mine and also music, videos, and articles that I like. I also may just type whatever is crossing my mind at the time if I feel it is important. Thanks for visiting.

Helloooooo

Hey everyone. A good friend just started following me on here, and it made me realize that I have hardly posted anything here. I’m gonna try to force myself to post at least one post every 2 or 3 days to get my stuff out there and to make this tumblr worthwhile. It might also get me to draw more. Stay sharp!

What I did on my day off.

This is my old mac G4 tower from 2000. I bought it for the new media design degree I was going to RIT for.

As you can see it has a cool, unique way of opening to access the insides. The side just opens with a pull of the latch(seen in the above picture, the circle just above the Apple logo.)

By 2004 it had almost completely crapped out. Today I was helping my parents clean out the basement and I saw that we still had it here. Everything inside of it is either dead or completely phased out by the unrelenting march of technology so I was just gonna toss it since no one could use it. A couple minutes later I had an idea. It still looks cool and sleek, and the way it opens is nifty, so I thought I could use it as something to carry stuff in. It’s not really practical to use everyday to carry stuff, it is kind of bulky, so I figured it’d be good as storage or a novelty item. I began gutting it still not knowing what I’d end up using it for. This is everything that was inside. I think there was more dust than parts.

Here it is all gutted and clean, and a side-by-side of it with all the old insides.

As I was nearing the end of gutting the tower, it came to me. What’s one of the coolest things anyone can have? A portable bar!!!

And the side that folds down works as a preparation/serving tray.

I fit 5 bottles and 2 rocks glasses in there, and it fits perfect, closes and latches. Also, on the back there is a lock feature to lock the door from being opened.(I left it slightly open in these pictures just to show another view. Trust me, it closes perfectly!)

Now I just need to think of a name for it. The iBar is too easy.
